An edible kelp, Kombu features heavily in Japanese and other east asian cuisines as a flavour base for stocks and sauces, lending an intense umami element to any dish it graces. Surprise surprise, it goes bloody fab in kraut. It's also super nutritious!
As with all our krauts, you can enjoy this with anything and everything but allow us to suggest a thing or two....
A simple Japanese brekky of rice, salmon, an omelette and kraut?
Roast sweet potato with sesame, served with kraut.
Kraut kraut kraut kraut.
You get the piccy!
